Detective

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the open employment opportunity of a Detective / Investigator, within the agency’s Investigations Unit. The Investigations Unit covers all aspects of general investigations, digital forensics, crime scene processing, and other expertise.

The minimum qualifications will be:

· State of Missouri P.O.S.T. certified and in good standing.

· Three years of continuous patrol and/or investigative experience.

· No formal verbal counsels in prior six months. No written reprimands within the prior 12 months. No suspensions within the prior 18 months.

The compensation and benefits are:

· Starting pay of $23.74 per hour. Employees are required to work 84 hours in a two-week period and are paid every two weeks.

· Depending on your experience, and with Sheriff approval, higher pay could be considered.

· Uniforms are provided. A business suit will be purchased during first year.

· An unmarked take-home vehicle will be issued.

· LAGERS – level 8, CERF, 457b retirement with matching available.

This position will require successful completion of a Field Training Period within the Patrol Division. Additional requirements will be:

· Participation in a rotating on-call schedule.

· Ability to work flexible, varying, and long hours.

· Attend training outside the local area.

· Augment the Patrol Division during Holidays, emergencies, and special events.

· Residing within 20 miles of boundary line of Camden County.

· Being physically capable of:

o Sitting, standing, and working in uncomfortable conditions for long periods.

o Lifting heavy items from ground level to chest level.

o Kneeling, squatting, and bending over to perform searches in areas difficult to access.

· Having exceptional report writing skills.

· Investigating cases involving highly sensitive and emotionally disturbing material to include Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC).

· Having the ability to gain information and cooperation through effective communication.

· Must have impeccable moral judgment and be truthful in all dealings.
