Repair & Maintenance Wastewater Technician Level I

Arm Sewer District is in search of a Repair & Maintenance Wastewater Technician Level I

  • Assists with maintaining and repairing wastewater distribution system including grinder cans and lift stations.
  • Perform Missouri One Call locates.
  • Assists or performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and repair work on wastewater equipment, systems, and tools as needed.
  • Maintains records and files related to daily assignments.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and repair to assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Prompt and regular attendance is required for this position.

 

Duties, Licensure or Certification

  • Help other team members accomplish tasks.
  • Attend required meetings and training.
  • Maintains and demonstrates good public relations.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment, as required.
  • Ability to be on-call evenings and weekends and to work long hours.
  • Abide by all standards, conduct and policies, as stated in the Employee Handbook.
  • Ability to obtain class D Wastewater Operator/Distribution certification within 18 months.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience, Skills, Physical and Cognitive 

  • Ability to use and maintain tools, equipment, and computers associated with wastewater operations
  • Skilled in the proper use of basic hand and power tools.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of background check.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Safe methods of lifting heavy objects.
  • Must have good mechanical ability.
  • Ability to perform activities that require the use of arms, legs and movement of the body, such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, reaching overhead, grasping, lifting, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling and handling objects.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to listen, understand and communicate information.

 

Work Environment

Some adverse working conditions exist within this position. The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions, including temperature extremes. Occasional nights/weekend hours will be required.

 

Job Type: Full-time, Non-exempt

Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour, commensurable upon experience.
