SUMMARY
Manages operation of restaurant during scheduled shifts including daily decision-making, staff performance, customer interaction and satisfaction, scheduling, planning, product quality and cleanliness. Responsible for the operational efficiency and profitability of all culinary operations. Develops and implements plans for continuous service improvements, optimizing profits and increasing sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinates multiple tasks while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities.
Expectation: Multiple tasks are performed in an effective, productive, timely, accurate, and complete manner that contributes to profitability.
Ensures the consistent planning, production, preparation, and prompt delivery of food.
Expectation: The planning, production, preparation, and delivery of food is conducted in an efficient, productive, cost effective, accurate, and timely manner.
Ensures that all customers are completely satisfied. Resolves customer service issues to the customer’s satisfaction.
Expectation: Customers are consistently completely satisfied with their food and service. Customer service issues are resolved in a prompt, professional, thorough, and timely manner.
Provides direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
Expectation: Direction provided is clear, informative, timely, accurate, and complete.
Maintains proper restaurant staffing at all times.
Expectation: Restaurant is consistently staffed at a functional and adequate level that contributes to productivity and profitability.
Ensures that proper cash handling procedures are followed. Balances cash on hand at the end of the day.
Expectation: All cash processes and procedures are consistently accurate, timely, and complete.
Performs checkouts of wait staff, cashiers, and bartenders ensuring that all tickets are accounted for, the proper amount of cash and all credit card vouchers are obtained from employees, and the minimum amount of tips have been declared.
Expectation: Checkouts are consistently accurate, timely, and complete.
Prepares reports at end of a shift that may include: daily labor control, daily food control, and daily sales. Expectation: Reports are current, accurate, and complete.
Creates and executes plans for department sales, profit and employee development. Expectation: Plans are productive, effective, beneficial, thorough, accurate, and timely.
Regularly measures and evaluates service standards by using various feedback tools.
Expectation: Measurements and evaluations are productive, informative, clear, timely, accurate, and complete.
Ensures ongoing sales skill and product knowledge development of managers and employees in the areas of food and beverages.
Expectation: Training provided is effective, clear, timely, accurate, and complete.
Trains new and experienced employees and continually develops them in their technical cooking skills, food preparation, food safety, and sanitation knowledge.
Expectation: Training provided is effective, clear, timely, accurate, and complete.
Promptly informs immediate supervisor of all pressing issues and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
Expectation: Communications are timely, accurate, productive, and complete.
Ensures a safe working and dining environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
Expectation: Consistently maintains a safe environment in an accurate and timely manner.
Completes accident reports promptly in the event a customer or employee is injured.
Expectation: Reports are timely, accurate, and complete.
Ensures that all employees adhere to the company’s uniform standards.
Expectation: All employees consistently adhere to dress code or uniform standards.
Reviews ongoing performance results and identifies needs of employees. Implements coaching or mentoring partnerships as appropriate.
Expectation: Departmental performance meets or exceeds company standards.
Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and food volume. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Maintains a valid Drivers License.
