Seamstress – Custom Boat Cover Fabrication Seamstress

Role Overview:

The Seamstress role for Marine Concepts plays a critical role in the production of custom track system boat covers. This position involves crafting high-quality, durable boat covers tailored to customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have sewing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

– Measure, cut, and sew fabric to create custom boat covers using industrial sewing machines.

– Ensure accurate alignment of seams and attachment points to match design specifications.

– Assemble covers with precision, adhering to company quality standards.

– Follow custom design specifications, including patterns for track systems, reinforcements, and fittings.

– Inspect completed covers for defects, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship.

– Make adjustments or repairs as needed to maintain product integrity.

– Work closely with supervisors, and production team members to meet project timelines.

– Communicate any issues or material shortages that could affect production schedules.

– Maintain sewing equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition.

– Keep the work area organized and clean to ensure safety and efficiency.

-Other tasks as required by supervisor related to sewing department

What we are looking for:

– Experience, helpful but not required will train the right candidate.

-experience with industrial sewing machines (single-needle, walking foot) is a plus.

-Previous experience in marine canvas work, upholstery, or similar industries. plus

– Knowledge of fabric handling. plus

– Ability to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

– Collaborative attitude and strong communication skills.

– Ability to lift and maneuver large fabric pieces.

– Comfortable with standing or sitting for extended periods.

– Understanding of custom track systems and boat cover installation techniques.
