Deputy City Clerk/Bookkeeper

The City of Linn Creek is seeking an experienced bookkeeper/deputy city clerk to maintain our financial records.

Job Title: Deputy Clerk/Bookkeeper 

Class: Non exempt

Hours: Full-Time, 8am to 4pm, occasional alternate hours

Reports to: City Clerk

Starting Pay: Negotiable/Per hour

Job Responsibilities:

  • All bookkeeping and accounting duties
  • General reporting as needed
  • Data Entry and clerical duties
  • Participation in event planning and execution
  • Production of ads, flyers, newsletters, and other publications
  • Website and social media content design and management
  • Provide excellent customer assistance in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide support for city clerk and mayor
  • Other duties as needed/assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar financial software
  • Accrual/fund accounting experience
  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and general office equipment
  • Valid Missouri driver’s license
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with elected officials, city staff, and public
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
