The Village of Sunrise Beach is accepting applications for the position of Public Works Maintenance Laborer. This is a full-time position which works with the Public Works Superintendent and staff in operation and maintenance of Sunrise Beach infrastructure, including streets and roads, water and sewer and buildings and facilities. Primary job duties include ongoing repair and maintenance of streets and roads, culverts, signage, right-of-way mowing and clearing, etc. Primary job duties also include maintenance and construction of water and sewer facilities, including water meter and sewage grinder pump and tank installations. Other job duties include maintenance of City buildings and facilities, including the City Hall, Police Department, and Public Works facilities. This position reports to the Public Works Superintendent and works at the broad direction of the City Manager and Chairman of the Board of Trustees
The ideal candidate will have a background in Public Works, highway and road construction, utility infrastructure, or other heavy construction. The ability to operate heavy equipment is a plus though not required. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with light construction and will have the ability to operate various light power tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to work well with the general public as well as supervisors and fellow employees.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. The pay range for this position is $17 to $19 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications.
