Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Convention Sales Manager located at Regalia Hotel & Conference Center in Lake Ozark, MO, with some work from home. The Convention Sales Manager will be responsible for day-to-day sales and management activities including customer acquisition, relationship building, contract negotiation, and event management.
Role & Responsibility
- Acquire new accounts by identifying potential clients and promoting our catering and banquet services.
- Review past events to identify opportunities for repeat business.
- Engage with clients and prospects to understand their needs and preferences.
- Control catering expenses through effective negotiation with service providers.
- Respond promptly to all inquiries via phone calls and walk-ins.
- Conduct site visits and entertain potential clients, showcasing our facilities.
- Assist in developing, editing, and distributing banquet-related files.
- Negotiate terms, prepare proposals, and draft contracts for events.
- Ensure that all functions meet client-specific standards, from setup to service.
- Address any issues promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill client requests related to the Banquet Event Order (BEO) process.
- Follow-up billing and deposit procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience in the hotel, resort, or property management industry.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as the ability to solicit new business.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing internal and external events, including seminars, wedding receptions, conventions, expos, trade shows, monthly rentals and concerts.
- Strong skills in communication, presentation, negotiation, and the ability to prepare and write proposals and contracts.
